Homemade playpen from plastic pipes

The playpen is an indispensable thing for a baby who has already learned how to actively move. He provides much more room for movement than a crib, and his fence prevents him from getting to where he should not. The only trouble is that in stores the price of such devices starts from 15 thousand rubles, which is expensive for many young parents.

Of course, you can search the Web or ask friends and buy a used playpen, much cheaper than in a store. But even cheaper to buy a playpen will cost if you make it yourself from plastic water pipes. The following is an example of the manufacture of such a playpen from pipes with a diameter of 25 mm.

How many plastic pipes do you need
For the manufacture of a playpen, measuring 150 × 115 × 60 cm with a frequency of vertical bridges of the fence every 10 cm, you will need 15 two-meter plastic pipes. When assembled, it looks like this:

In detail for mounting the playpen you will need:
1. Vertical racks 60 cm long each - 38 pieces.
2. Jumpers between vertical racks 10 cm long - 68 pieces and jumpers 5 cm long between vertical racks and corners 4 for each corner of the arena.
3. Corners - 8 pieces.
4. Tees for mounting the long sides of the arena - 44 pieces, 11 + 11 of which are for fastening pipes of two sides of the bottom and the same for two sides of the top.
5. Tees for mounting the short sides of the arena - 32 pieces, of which 8 + 8 for the lower and 8 + 8 for the upper.
All the details of the design of the arena are interconnected using a special apparatus for welding plastic pipes.

How is the work done

1. First you need to collect the lower part of the arena, as shown in the figure below.



2. After that, vertical racks should be installed in the tee sockets of the assembled lower part.



3. At the last stage, tees of the upper part of the arena are installed on the uprights and fixed with jumpers.



The playpen made of plastic pipes is strong enough and safe for the child, and if necessary, it is easy to disassemble.The total cost of materials for its manufacture is in the range of 3 thousand rubles, so that the savings, as they say, are obvious, and plastic pipes can be useful on the farm even after the playpen is no longer needed.
